AP’s ex-Governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari, who had quite an unceremonious exit from the Raj Bhavan after a
sex scandal, spoke to media when he reached Dehradun yesterday.
He said he was framed by people in the Telangana agitation, when he refused to let them meet President Pratibha Patil. Patil was supposed to have come down to Hyderabad, but her visit was cancelled in the wake of the political turmoil in the state’s capital.
Tiwari said that certain politicians wanted to tarnish his image, and that he was ultimately made a scapegoat over the Telangana issue.
The 85-year-old politician said he won’t retire so soon, and that he would continue to serve the nation – he was waiting for the truth to come out, he said.
Telangana leaders have denied all these allegations and said there was no such frame-up. In fact, Eetela has taken offence at the accusation, saying that they are actually fighting a "
pavitramaina dharma poratam", and it was wrong for a person of Tiwari's stature to make such statements.
