The Narayanaguda police, on Friday, registered a case against the chairman of the Narayana Group of Educational Institutions, P Narayana, and his wife and his daughter, on charges of printing Telugu Academy textbooks violating the rules and regulations.
According to Narayanaguda police, the case was registered following a complaint lodged by officials of Telugu Academy that the Narayana Group of Educational Institutions was reproducing the Academy's textbooks in violation of the Copyright Act.
The Telugu Academy officials, in their complaint, stated that the academy suffered a loss to the tune of Rs. 10 crore due to reproducing of textbooks by the Narayana Group, and sought action against the institution.
Following the registration of the case, the police conducted a raid on Nishith Publications, where the institute publishes textbooks, and seized some printing materials.
