The actor, who debuted on the Telugu silver screen at the age of 14 with Tatammakala alongside his father, the then-reigning superstar N T Rama Rao, also launched his upcoming movie Hara Hara Mahadeva on the occasion of his birthday. The movie launch took place in HITEX, with minister D K Aruna and veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao gracing the occasion.
Nandamuri Balakrishna, popularly referred to as Balayya or NBK, celebrated his birthday at the Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital. He cut a cake among cancer-stricken kids, and distributed fruits among the patients there.
When asked about his plans to join active politics, Balayya told the media that politics and cinema were like his 2 eyes. He said he would surely enter politics soon, if people so desired, and said there were high expectations from him. He would work for the Telugu Desam Party (which his late father started) and its progress, he said, and added that posts weren't important.
