Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that there would 2 Deputy Chief Ministers for Seemandhra if the TDP was voted to power there.
Addressing a public meeting in Pithapuram (East Godavari district), Naidu promised that the 2 Deputy Chief Minister posts would be given to a leader each from the Backward Classes and the Kapu community.
He also promised to set up a Kapu Commission on the lines of the BC Commission.
He expressed concerned over the deteriorating condition of the Kapu community, and admitted that a comprehensive development plan was needed for its overall development.
Naidu also addressed road shows in the Godavari districts on Saturday.
Since the Kapus are a dominant caste in the Godavari districts, the TDP chief focused his speeches on making specific promises to the community, including, as mentioned above, an offer to make a Kapu leader the Deputy CM of the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
