The Telangana issue has started to haunt Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu during his padayatra "Vastunna Mee Kosam".
Naidu, who resumed his padayatra on the second day from Kollakuntla village of Anantapur district, was taken aback when some activists disrupted his meeting in protest against his stand on the Telangana issue.
The activists were raising slogans in favour of a united Andhra Pradesh. They demanded that Naidu openly oppose the formation of a Telangana state. However, they were later pacified by TDP leaders.
Interacting with different sections of the people during his padayatra, Naidu emphasised on the empowerment of women, minorities, deprived classes and youth. He said that the growth of the country's wealth depends on the development of these deprived sections of the society.
The residents of Kollakuntla village apprised Naidu of their problems of frequent power cuts and meager pensions. Chandrababu Naidu told them that he would provide a better administration if he comes to power in the next elections.
He also said he would rectify the mistakes he committed in the past, and prioritise the welfare of the poor and downtrodden classes. (INN)
