Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today denied knowing Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) board member Shekhar Reddy who was, on December 8, caught red-handed with the possession of Rs. 130 crores of unaccountable wealth at his residence.
As per reports, the AP Chief Minister, upon being questioned briefly by the IT sleuths, claimed that he did not personally choose TTD board members, and only chose upon being recommended by other sources. However, he reportedly did not reveal the names of those sources. This comes after strong speculations that Reddy amassed all that wealth only after becoming a TTD member. And TTD members can supposedly be appointed only by the Andhra Pradesh CM.
For those who came in late, the Income Tax (IT) department, on December 8, raided the premises of Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) board member Shekhar Reddy's house in Chennai and recovered Rs. 90 crores in cash and 100 kg of gold. As per reports, the total worth of illegal wealth seized from the TTD member's residence is around Rs. 130 crores.
Reddy is also said to have known former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayaram Jayalalitha and a top BJP leader at the Centre.
