N Convention Built On Encroached Land?

A complaint was lodged with the Lok Ayukta against film star Nagarjuna, stating that he had encroached land in the Madhapur area.

Based on the compliant, the Lok Ayukta issued notices to GHMC, the Environment secretary, the HMDA comissioner and the tahsildar, and seven others, asking them for details.

The complaint was lodged by Kasireddy Bhaskar Reddy, who contended that Nagarjuna had built his N Convention Centre on the land encroached at Tammidi Tank.

There have been complaints against Nagarjuna about N Convention, and also about the usage of Annapurna Studios for purposes other than film production. It may be mentioned here that the government had allotted the 22-acre chunk of land to his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao, for film production and related work, at a nominal price. (INN)
