The third bail plea of former TDP minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, who had been arrested in connection with the recent
Bowenpally kidnapping case, was today accepted by the Nampally Sessions Court in Hyderabad.
The bench hearing the plea asked her to deposit a bail bond of Rs 10,000 along with two sureties.
The former minister's lawyers had approached the Nampally court after a lower court in Secunderabad told them that it was
not competent to try her bail petition.
Priya, the
prime accused in the kidnapping case, had been in custody in the Chanchalguda jail for the last 17 days, and will reportedly be released on Saturday.
Meanwhile, her husband Bhargav Ram has been absconding ever since the case came to light.
The former TDP leader had previously filed two more bail petitions, neither of which were accepted. The police had, at both hearings, pointed out that her release would jeopardise the ongoing investigation of the case as she had the resources and the influence to "manipulate" not only evidence but also key witnesses easily.
