Muslim Body Asks Congress Government To Fulfill Promises
The All India Muslim Minority Organisation asked that the promises made to the minorities in the Congress' election manifesto be fulfilled immediately.
The All India Muslim Minority Organisation today demanded that the promises made to the minorities in the Congress' election manifesto be fulfilled immediately.
Former MP Aziz Pasha and M A Siddiqui, representatives of the organisation, addressed a press conference held at the NSS in Hyderguda, and made a series of demands.
They urged the State government to allocate 100 acres of Waqf land for crematoriums along highways located at least 20 km away.
They also alleged that Waqf lands were being illegally occupied by land grabbers and encroachers, and sought strict measures to protect the Waqf Board's assets that they said were valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh crore.
They also sought the allocation of 100 square yards of Waqf land to poor Muslims.
The representatives also called on the Congress to implement its Minority Declaration and grant legal powers to the Waqf Board.
They also said that all minority welfare departments were facing a shortage of expert staff, and asked for more people to be hired.
Finally, they also urged that minorities be given representation in the "upcoming" State cabinet reshuffle.
