MP Syed Aziz Pasha urges CM Rosaiah to set up area hospital at Atmakur in Kurnool district.
Member of Parliament, Syed Aziz Pasha, urged Chief Minister K Rosaiah to set up an area hospital in Atmakur village of Kurnool district immediately.
Submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Aziz Pasha pointed out that Atmakur is a densely populated gram panchayat which covers 22 major wards in the Assembly constituency. He revealed that each ward was populated by 2,500 to 3,000 voters.
The Rajya Sabha member stated that no development activities had been taken up in Atmakur village during the last 6 decades.
Pointing out that the village was a stop for pilgrims to Srisailam, Vishnu Nandi, Maha Nandi and Sreeveera Brahmagari Mutt besides the Bellum Caves, Aziz Pasha said that the place enjoys a unique geographical location, being in the centre of districts like Guntur, Prakasam, Vijayawada and Nellore, and is well-connected by state highways.
The MP said that lakhs of pilgrims and tourists visit these holy places as well as Pavaralagutta by using the roads connected to this village.
Pasha also pointed out that Atmakur was also famous for its agricultural produce like paddy, jowar, groundnut, haldi, green chillies, onion and tobacco, and fruits like oranges, bananas and sapotas.
Atmakur has greenery, in places like the Nallamala forest, which is famous for its wildlife, he pointed out.
Aziz Pasha said that the people of Atmakur were facing hardships in the event of medical emergencies, having to take the patients to the nearest hospital in Nandyal, over 50 km away.
The MP said that the people were facing acute shortage of medical personnel and hospitals, and said that many patients die on the way to any major hospital.
The Rajya Sabha Member urged Rosaiah to give the nod for setting up of an area hospital in Atmakur on an urgent basis.
