Telangana Political JAC Chairman M Kodandaram said that it was not proper for the Centre to not divide the Hyderabad High Court even a year after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a meeting on "Special High Court For Telangana State" on Saturday at Sundaraiah Vignan Kendram, Kodandaram said that a new movement would be started for the division of the High Court.
Stating that the division of the High Court would be possible only with a public movement, he warned the Centre that the Telangana Political JAC would intensify the agitation for the division of the High Court from August 6, the birth anniversary of Telangana ideologue Jayashankar. He said that a committee would be set up in the TPJAC to go to war against the Centre for the division of the High Court.
He opined that the agitation for the bifurcation of the High Court should not confine only to advocates, and called upon every Telangana citizen to participate in it.
Neither of the two governments would be able to work properly without the division of the High Court, Kodandaram opined. The division of the High Court was also required as per Article 371 (D), he added.
He also said that there was no committee for the bifurcation of the government firms, and alleged that the Sheela Bide Committee was confined only to the division of the assets. (NSS)
