Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao Joins YSRCP
He was arrested and sent to jail for his role as infrastructure minister, in the allotment of land for the VANPIC project, to help Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao, who was released on bail from jail recently, will be joining the YSR Congress on Friday.
Mopidevi, who belongs to the fishermen community, represents Repalle in Guntur district, in the Assembly.
He was arrested and sent to jail for his role as infrastructure minister, in the allotment of land for the VANPIC project, to help Y S Jaganmohan Reddy amass wealth in the form of quid pro quo investments into his company by those who got the land.
The CBI court granted him bail on October 29.
He was arrested on May 24 last year. In July, Mopidevi's son Rajiv, and his brother Harinath Babu joined the YSRCP.
