The CBI court is likely to deliver its verdict on the interim bail petition filed by former minister Mopidevi Venakataramana, on September 16.
The CBI court, which had earlier admitted Mopidevi's petition seeking interim bail on health grounds, heard the petition on Friday. The court has reportedly heard the arguments of both Mopidevi and the CBI, and has adjourned the next hearing to September 16. It is likely that the court will pronounce its verdict on that day.
Mopidevi has been lodged at the Chanchalguda jail since his arrest by the CBI on May 24 this year, for his alleged role in the VANPIC segment of the Disproportionate Assets case of the YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. In his petition seeking interim bail, Mopidevi told the court that he was suffering from chronic back pain due to a problem in his spinal cord. (INN)
