Former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana moved a petition in the CBI court, on Thursday, seeking an interim bail, citing medical grounds.

Mopidevi, who is in jail after being arrested by the CBI in relation to the Jagan assets case, told the court, in his petition, that he was suffering from severe illness. While admitting the petition, the court posted the matter for hearing on this Friday.

Mopidevi has been lodged in the Chanchalguda Jail since his arrest by the CBI, on May 24 this year, for his alleged role in the VANPIC segment of the Disproportionate Assets case of YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. (INN)
