The Congress on Monday asked media persons to desist from linking the monsoon session of the state Assembly to Jagan's Odarpu Yatra.
Talking to the media on Monday, Congress leaders Ravindra Reddy and Erasu Pratap Reddy said that cabinet ministers had decided to advance the dates of the monsoon session of the Assembly so that there is no clash with dates of the by-elections (to the 12 constituencies in Telangana region).
The 2 MLAs hinted that the monsoon session of the Assembly could well begin in the first week of July, since former CM minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy's birthday is on July 8, and the party could use the occasion to celebrate it on a grand scale.
They said that all the districts in the state would celebrate YSR's birthday on a grand scale. They added that the state government has nothing to do with the proposed Odarpu Yatra apart from providing security, and said that it is the party high command that is handling the situation as regards to the Odarpu Yatra.
