Shamshabad Police Summon Vijayawada Corporator

The Shamshabad police have summoned Vijayawada corporator Ummadi Venkateshwar Rao (Chantibabu) over with his alleged misbehaviour with a woman recently.
Hyderabad | 18th May 2016
The Shamshabad police of the Ranga Reddy district have summoned Vijayawada 25th Ward corporator Ummadi Venkateshwar Rao alias Chantibabu to appear before them in connection with his alleged misbehaviour with a female co-passenger in a flight recently.

Responding to the police call, Rao sought two days' time to appear before them and cooperate in the investigation. He told the police he would bring his advocate to complete all the formalities.

Though the corporator had got some respite from police action at the time of the complaint by the lady thanks to the intervention of a local MP, the police registered a case against the former and asked him to surrender before them.

As the news spread that Chantibabu was likely to be taken into custody on Wednesday, a large number of his followers and Party leaders gathered at his house, creating high drama.
