Telangana Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao on Wednesday alleged that the BJP-led NDA Government was continuing the mistakes committed by its predecessor, the UPA 2 government.
Speaking to media persons, KTR said that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be called UPA 3, as it was continuing the wrong policies adopted by the previous regime.
He asked that if the NDA wanted to continue the policies of the UPA, then what did the people gain by voting for a change.
Referring to the delegation of special powers over law & order in Hyderabad to the Governor in Telangana, he said that Modi should not repeat the mistake made by Sonia Gandhi.
He asked the Telangana BJP to pressurise the Centre to carry out specific amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act to ensure that the law & order powers remained with the State government.
This was a test for the BJP to prove its loyalty and honesty towards Telangana and its people, he said.
Reacting to allegations being levelled against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao by the Telangana Congress, KTR described the TPCC as a divided house.
He said that several Congress leaders had openly expressed their resentment over the continuation of Ponnala Lakshmaiah in the post of TPCC President. Therefore, Ponnala had no right to criticise, and should tender an apology to the Chief Minister for his remarks, he stated.
Defending the proposed Comprehensive Household Survey, KTR said that TRS government had every right to gather statistics related to the people living in Telangana. He said that only people with vested interests were opposing the proposed survey. (INN)
