The TRS MPs on Monday stalled the proceedings of the Lok Sabha in protest against the Centre's recent letter giving special powers to the Governor to control the law & order in Hyderabad.
Raising "Jai Telangana" slogans, the TRS members rushed to the well, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House twice.
As soon as the House met on Monday, the TRS MPs raised the issue, and demanded a discussion on it by adjourning the Question Hour. However, the Speaker rejected their adjournment motion, and assured them that they would be allowed to raise the issue during the Zero Hour.
However, the TRS members continued their protest, and were also joined by MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi who claimed that the Centre's directions were against the Constitution.
After taking up two questions amid protests, the Speaker was forced to adjourn the House again for 10 minutes.
The TRS members did not relent even after the House convened after that, and continued their protest though Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement in the House justifying the Centre's action.
The uproar created by the TRS members again led to the adjournment of the House till 2pm. (INN)
