Member of Legislative Council K Dileep Kumar submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday, requesting the government to look into the possibility of revising the layout plan for the Metro Rail Project in Hyderabad.
Dileep Kumar stated in his memorandum that since the government had cancelled the contract agreement with the Maytas Group and had entered into contract with L&T, the layout plan should also be revised.
Kumar also stated that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority must work in tandem for the implementation of the Metro Rail Project, since it would bring in many benefits to the city.
The MLC also pointed out that care should be taken that no harm is caused to heritage buildings in the execution of the prestigious project.
Kumar further added that work on the Metro Rail Project should be carried out in such a way as not to hinder the traffic at busy junctions in the city.
