MLC Nominations Expose Secret Alliance Of Congress & BJP: BRS

Former minister and BRS leader T Harish Rao today said that the secret alliance between the Congress and the BJP had once again been exposed through the appointment of the MLCs under the Governor's quota.

He alleged that the Congress government was working on the BJP's agenda, and that Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan approving the Congress' nominees for MLCs was proof of the cooperation.

He said that the same Governor had refused to appoint MLC nominees of the previous BRS government on the ground that they were in political parties. "Now the Congress has recommended a party president as an MLC, and it has been accepted by the Governor. Are these not double standards and is this not acting in favour of the Congress?" he asked.

He claimed that in the past the BRS government had recommended those who had worked in the fields of sports, culture, education and social service as MLCs, and said that the principles of justice and constitutional traditions should be the same for all parties.

He alleged that the Congress and the BJP were basically trying to suppress the BRS in the State. "It is unfortunate that the Governor is part of this conspiracy," he lamented.
