TRS Top Brass Continues To Efforts Woo Voters

Ministers Mahamood Ali and Gangula Kamalakar today urged the voters of the Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy constituency to support the TRS in the upcoming MLC elections.
Hyderabad | 4th March 2021
Telangana Home Minister Mohammad Mahamood Ali and BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar today urged the educated youth and the government employees of the Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy graduates' constituency to support Surabhi Vani Devi, the TRS' candidate for the seat, in the upcoming MLC elections to be held on March 14.

Speaking at a preparatory program for the elections at the Ministers Quarters in Hyderabad, the leaders sought support for Vani Devi saying that she would bring development and welfare to the six districts.

They claimed that the BJP candidates contesting for the two MLC seats would not work for the people. They also assailed the Modi Government for adopting "dual standards" on development by granting funds to some states and not to others.

"What will the BJP leaders in the state be able to do for the people when they could not even secure any funds from the Centre which is led by their own party? The BJP candidate for the seat, incumbent MLC N Ramchander Rao, has never bothered to work for the people of his constituency. Therefore, the graduates should think carefully about the choice they will soon have to make - they need to ask themselves whether they want to support a party that is committed to the people's welfare, or one that has burdened the common people by jacking up fuel prices in the nation," the two ministers said.

Like their fellow party leaders, they then faulted the NDA's "negligent attitude" towards Telangana's development and accused it of deliberately ignoring the TRS government's pleas for funds and developmental support.

"Despite repeated appeals from our government, the Modi regime has shelved the Information Technology Investment Region project. It has also denied us funds, and has not fulfilled the promises made to our state in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act (2014)," the ministers alleged.

Pushing the case of Vani Devi, Kamalakar and Mahamood Ali highlighted her experiences in the field of education and her knowledge of, and insight into the sector's issues.

"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao chose to field Vani Devi as it was a good way to pay homage to her late father former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao. However, this was not the only reason behind the decision. Our candidate has years of experience in the education sector. This makes her the best-equipped candidate to handle the issues of the youth and the graduates. We hope you will all support her and give her the chance to serve you," they said.
