Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today lashed out at the Modi regime for its alleged lack of commitment to the Make in India and Atma Nirbhar Bharat schemes, and for its failure to fulfil the bifurcation promises made to the two Telugu states.
Speaking at the annual meeting of the Confederation Of Indian Industry held at Begumpet, Rao asked the Modi regime why it had refused to sanction a bullet rail project in Hyderabad, and the Information Technology Investment Region project and any industrial parks in the state.
"The Modi government does not have a truly federal spirit which is why it has failed to support a progressive state like ours. It has consistently denied our appeals for support ever since the creation of Telangana even though it is a fast-growing state that has become a medical and industrial hub," he claimed.
"The BJP leaders in the state too have not taken a stand against the Centre's negligent attitude. They have not been able to exert pressure on the Modi regime for the release of funds, or for the fulfilment of the bifurcation promises made to us. Now of course they are blaming us to secure electoral gains and political mileage," the minister added.
He also faulted the Centre's "double standards" on development, and said, "How can it expect programs like Atma Nirbhar Bharat to flourish while constantly bringing in anti-people policies? Has it not brought in three extremely unjust agricultural legislations that will lead to the economic ruin of the farmers of our country? Our government, on the other hand, has always worked towards the welfare of the state's agrarian community. We have implemented many schemes such as the Rythu Bandhu scheme and several irrigation projects to do so. We are sincere in our commitment to welfare unlike the Centre."
Later, at a party meeting, the TRS leader asked the party's rank and file to woo the graduates and educated youth ahead of the upcoming MLC elections in the graduates' constituencies of Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda, and asked them to "expose the misdeeds" of the BJP.
"Take on the BJP's lies, and expose its negligent attitude towards our state. Show the voters that supporting the TRS candidate is the more economically sound choice. Assure them that we will continue to work for the development of the state and its people," KTR said.
Each leader was asked to meet with at least 50 graduates and seek their support.
