TRS Leaders Urge Voters To Choose Vani Devi

Many TRS bigwigs, including Minister K T Rama Rao, were seen trying to convince voters to support Surabhi Vani Devi in the upcoming MLC elections in the state.
Hyderabad | 10th March 2021
The TRS seems to be giving its all to woo the voters in the Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy graduates' constituency ahead of the upcoming MLC elections that are only four days away.

Speaking to a gathering of teachers' unions, at a campaign meeting at the Jal Vihar, TRS working president, IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao, today said that their party did not work for power, votes, or posts, but for the development of Telangana and the welfare of its people.

He appealed to the teachers, graduates and intelligentsia of the three districts to support the TRS' candidate for the seat, Surabhi Vani Devi, promising them that she would devote herself to addressing the problems affecting the people of the constituency.

"While the TRS works all through the year for the people of the state, the BJP and the Congress only run to them when its time to ask for votes. I urge you to think carefully before casting your votes in the upcoming elections - do remember that it was our government that continued to implement all its welfare schemes for the benefit of the people despite incurring huge losses due to the Covid-19 pandemic, last year. We are committed to working for the farmers, the poor, the disabled, the women and the youth of Telangana. Please give us the chance to do so," the minister added.

He also flayed the TRS' rivals, the BJP and the Congress, for spreading "lies" about the ruling party, and for "stalling" development in the state.

"The BJP and the Congress are known only for spreading lies and for hindering Telangana's development. They keep blaming us for the rising unemployment rates in the state. But, we have already stated that a notification will be issued to fill 50,000 vacant government job posts as soon as the elections conclude. I hope the graduates' constituencies' voters will recognise our commitment to welfare, and will support our candidates in the upcoming MLC elections. Surabhi Vani Devi, who is contesting for the Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy seat, is a well-known educationist committed to serving society. She is the most well-equipped among the candidates to address and resolve the issues of the graduates and of the education sector. I urge you to support her," KTR said.

Ministers Talasani Sriniavas Yadav and Sabitha Indra Reddy were also present for the meeting.

In another part of the city, BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar also addressed a meeting to convince the graduate voters to vote pink in the MLC elections.

Claiming that TRS supremo, CM KCR, was responsible for the rapid development of Telangana, Kamlakar told a gathering of employee associations' representatives at the Press Club in Somajiguda that the government was sincere about resolving the problems of the state's employees, and appealed to them to extend their support to Vani Devi to help them in their endeavour to do so.

"We have decided to pay homage to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao by fielding his daughter, Vani Devi, as our candidate for the Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy seat. We hope you will all support her, and give her an opportunity to work for you," he said.

The minister added that the state government had been able to bring development and implement several welfare programs even without the support of the BJP-led Centre, and urged the employee associations to reject the saffron party's candidates in the upcoming elections.
