The schedule for the election to fill up the AP Legislative Council seat that fell vacant following the resignation of Mopidevi Venkata Ramana has been declared.
The Election Commission of India has declared the process for the conducting of elections to fill up the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council seat that fell vacant following the resignation of Mopidevi Venkata Ramana.
The notification will be issued on August 6. The last date for the submission of nomination papers will be August 13. The election will be held on August 24, and the counting of the votes will be held on the same day.
However, the EC didn't issue the notification for another MLC seat that fell vacant following the resignation of Subash Chandra Bose.
The reason for this is that the term of Bose will end in March 2021.
Mopidevi and Bose have both been sworn in as Rajya Sabha members after resigning from their MLC posts.
