A multi-minorities communal delegation comprising of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and Parsis expressed their overwhelming delight at Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s decision to repair and renovate all places of worship.
The delegation met the Chief Minister in his Camp Office to personally thank him for the decision, which, they said, was an indication of his commitment to protect their interests and rights. It may be recalled that Kiran Kumar Reddy had ordered a face-lift for all existing mosques, gurudwaras and churches, for which he granted Rs. 15 crore.
Later, they told media persons that they had sought the Chief Minister to construct hostels for children belonging to minorities’ families on the lines that existed for SCs and STs. They said they also wanted a special sub-plan on par with the SC/ST sub-plan. (INN)
