Telangana Government Advisor (SC, ST, OBC & Minorities) Mohammed Ali Shabbir today assured comprehensive support to the family of the late Shaik Riyaz, following an appeal from a Nizamabad delegation led by Hafiz Mohammed Layeeq Khan.
Riyaz, a resident of Armoor in Nizamabad district, had many criminal cases against him, and was killed in a police encounter on October 20 after allegedly murdering a 42-year-old constable Pramod when being taken to court the previous day.
He is survived by his mother, wife and two young children, who are reportedly facing acute financial hardship with no permanent home or income.
After reviewing the memorandum, Shabbir Ali assured the delegation that a 2BHK house would be sanctioned to Riyaz's wife under a suitable government scheme, after consultation with minister Seethakka. He also said that he would personally bear the educational expenses of the two children - currently in Classes 2 and 3 - until Class 5, after which they would be admitted to a TMREIS residential school for long-term educational support.
He also said that outsourcing employment for Riyaz's wife would be considered in TMREIS or another appropriate institution, in coordination with minister Seethakka and relevant authorities.
Terming the family's condition "a case requiring immediate humanitarian intervention", Shabbir Ali assured the family of all necessary assistance for their stability and future.
