Minister for Endowments Gade Venkata Reddy, on Sunday, stated that the Chief Minister K Rosaiah's
statement on the participation of Ministers and others in the Andhra Pradesh State Formation Day was misinterpreted.
Talking to a private television news channel, Gade said the Chief Minister had categorically stated that it was mandatory for Ministers and party leaders to participate in the official Formation Day celebrations on November 1.
However, the Chief Minister stated that Congress party leaders were welcome to decide whether they would take part in the celebrations or not, Venkata Reddy stated.
The Endowments Minister told the news channel that, despite the TRS'
threats to boycott the event and observe it as 'Betrayal Day', all Cabinet Ministers would participate in the celebrations and respect the emotions and sentiments of Seemandhra people.
The minister asked Telangana leaders to reconsider their decision and not obstruct the celebrations. Gade also asked Telangana leaders and students not to resort to issuing threats before the submission of the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission report on the situation in the State and create law and order problems.
