Minister Visits Injured In Cricket Tickets Stampede
Sports Minister Srinivas Goud handed over tickets for the India-Australia T20 match to them, and also arranged for them to be taken in a government vehicle.
Sports Minister Srinivas Goud today visited a private hospital in the city where he enquired about the health of the people who were injured during the stampede at the Gymkhana Grounds in Secunderabad for the tickets for the third T20 cricket match between India and Australia to be held in the city today.
The minister spoke with five injured persons - Ranjita, Sujatha, Alia Srikanth, Adityanath and Sai Karthik - and also enquired about the medical facilities being provided by the hospital.
On the occasion, he handed over tickets for the match to them on behalf of the sports department, and also asked the officials concerned to take the injured people to the stadium in a government vehicle to watch the match.
The minister also appreciated a police constable who rescued a woman during the stampede, and said that he had written a letter to DGP Mahender Reddy urging him to give an increment to her and a promotion.
He said that the State government would conduct an enquiry into the alleged irregularities in the sale of the match tickets, and that stringent action would be initiated against those found guilty.
