Minister Komatireddi Venkat Reddy on Wednesday denied rumours that he was joining the YSR Congress Party.
Talking to reporters, Venkat Reddy said that the former Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was a good person, and that he had an extremely nice relationship with him, while denying reports that he was planning to quit the Congress party to join the Jaganmohan Reddy camp.
"I will live and die for Telangana. I have no agenda or priority other than the creation of a separate state of Telangana," Komatireddi announced.
He said bringing statehood for the region ought to be only the priority for all politicians in Telangana. He further announced that he would quit from all posts, including from his primary membership of the Congress party, if the party fails to take a favourable decision on Telangana by the end of September.
He said that after resigning from all posts, he, along with hundreds of supporters, would go on a hunger strike in Nalgonda.
Komatireddi also criticised Telangana ministers for joining duties without getting any assurance on separate statehood.
He said they must take lessons of loyalty from pro-Jagan MLAs who had resigned for an individual. (INN)
