The Hyderabad-based AIMIM today announced that it would contest in nine constituencies in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections.
Addressing media persons, the chief of the party and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that apart from the seven constituencies that it already represented, the party would also compete for the Rajendra Nagar and the Jubilee Hills constituency seats this time.
He said that the party's sitting MLAs Ahmed Pasha Quadra and Mumtaz Ahmed Khan would be kept out of the upcoming elections, and would be replaced by other candidates. He said that the party would utilise the services of these two MLAs in other roles.
