Alleging that that MIM had resorted to rigging and bogus voting in three Assembly constituencies of the State capital, the Congress today urged the Election Commission (EC) to stop counting of votes in the Chandrayanagutta, Bahadurpura and Charminar Assembly constituencies until completion of the verification of the CC footage.
It wrote to the CEC on the issue.
In the letter, Congress leader G Niranjan alleged that the MIM had polluted the entire polling process by resorting to bogus voting and rigging in the three constituencies.
He also alleged that MIM leaders resorted to attacks on Congress leaders and activists.
He claimed that the MIM was able to resort to the rigging and bogus voting as there were no polling agents of other political parties, and alleged that the officials of the Election Commission had failed to stop the MIM leaders and activists from committing the electoral malpractices.
He demanded that the EC examine the CC footage of all the polling stations in the three constituencies and take action against the guilty.
He also demanded that the EC hold re-polling in all the three constituencies.
However, Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj said that there was no question of conducting re-polling anywhere in Telangana.
