BJP state president G Kishan Reddy has accused the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen of resorting to the politics of fear to get Muslim votes and win seats.
Addressing the BJP Minority Morcha meeting with Muslim intellectuals on "The Turning Point of Telangana Muslims" on Thursday, Kishan Reddy said that the MIM had brought about no development in the Old City. He said that instead, it had exploited common Muslims through communal politics.
He said that the MIM did not do even one per cent of what the BJP did for the protection of Wakf properties. He said that the MIM was not serious about protection and development of Wakf properties in the state.
Kishan Reddy also accused the Congress of using Muslims as a vote bank. He said that the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has a clear vision for the educational and socio-economic development of Muslims in the country. He said that Gujarati Muslims have the highest per capita purchasing power, but that the Congress party is trying to get Muslim votes by branding Modi and the BJP as anti-Muslim.
The BJP leader claimed that the present network of minorities' educational institutions is due to the policies of BJP-led NDA Government. Further, he said that that it was Atal Bihari Vajpayee who had simplified the passport procedure which helped thousands of Muslims in taking up jobs in Gulf countries.
BJP senior leaders, including N Indrasena Reddy, Baddam Bal Reddy, Dr. K Lakshman, Mallareddy, Minority Morcha National President Rashid Ansari, Vice-Presidents Irfan Ahmed and F S Layaq Ali and State Morcha president Syed Hanif Ali, also addressed the meeting. (INN)
