The police on Thursday 'deflated' the Million March by deflating the tyres of the car which was supposed to take Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) Convenor Kodandaram to the Tank Bund in Hyderabad, where the massive public rally would culminate.
The police arrested Prof. Kodandaram at the JAC office at New MLA Quarters even as he was starting to proceed to the Tank Bund to take part in the Million March.
The police personnel have been instructed to foil the Million March in Hyderabad since there was permission to hold the March.
The JAC Convenor had planned to hoodwink the cops by making the short journey to the Tank Bund in the car of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Lakshmi Narayana.
The police, however, first deflated the tyres of the car, and then arrested Prof. Kodandaram. Terming the arrest as 'illegal', Prof. Kodandaram stated the government cannot curb the legitimate voice of the Telangana people by resorting to forcible and illegal arrests.
"Despite the JAC expressing its commitment that the Million March for Telangana would be peaceful, the government has sought to disrupt it by imposing restrictions and resorting to arrests," Prof. Kodandaram stated.
He added that the government cannot suppress the aspirations of the Telangana people by resorting to arrests. "The Telangana leaders will not be cowed down by the government's repressive measures, and in fact, would intensify their agitation for a separate state until the Centre introduces the Telangana bill in Parliament," the TPJAC Convenor stated.

The imperialistic rule of andhra should end. People of telangana don't want to be part of andhra pradesh. They want their own state. Is there any democracy in india? When so many people are not willing to be part of andhra pradesh why is government forcing them to be part of that state? This is oppression and tahrir square kind of protest till telangana is formed is the only solution.
