As many as 7,502 cases were disposed of during the 2-day Mega Lok Adalat held by the Metropolitan Legal Services Authority, at the Criminal Court's Complex, in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, on Saturday and Sunday.
The cases disposed of include 2,037 criminal cases and 5,465 pre-litigation cases pending in various courts of this unit.
The Mega Lok Adalat was held under the personal supervision of Metropolitan Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman (Metropolitan Legal Services Authority) G Shyam Prasad and 1st Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge G Lakshmipati, and Chief Metropolitan Magistrate K Sanga Reddy.
According to the Authority's Secretary, P Chandra Sekhara Prasad, "The program was conducted successfully with the efforts and participation of Presiding Officers, Advocates, court staff, parties and police officials concerned. The parties in the cases have come forward voluntarily and settled the matters on receipt of notice from various courts, before the Lok Adalat."
Apart from the above cases, 7 cases of Plea Bargain have been disposed of. (INN)
