Law Minister Erasu Pratap Reddy, on Monday, announced that the state government would set up courts in 136 villages across Andhra Pradesh.
However, the minister did not disclose further details on when the process would be completed.
Talking to reporters at his chambers in the state Secretariat, Pratap Reddy said that Rs. 10 crore has been sanctioned for carrying out repairs of court buildings across the state.
The minister also said that the Chief Justice has sought financial assistance of Rs. 75 crore for the judiciary department, and that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has assured the Chief Justice that the government would try to arrange the funds during the next budget.
Pratap Reddy said that 108 fast-track courts would be added in the state soon. Further, the government also proposes to recruit judicial staff shortly, he said. (INN)
