Medak MP Raghunandan Rao Gets Relief In High Court
The court dismissed the case against Rao charging him with violating Model Code of Conduct during the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly seat by-election in 2021.

Medak MP Raghunandan Rao, belonging to the BJP, today received relief from the Telangana High Court, which dismissed an electoral offence case registered against him within the Nagarjuna Sagar police station limits.
The FIR was filed in connection with his campaign during the 2021 Nagarjuna Sagar by-election.
The complaint alleged that he campaigned without permission while the Model Code of Conduct was in force.
Raghunandan Rao had participated in election campaigns in Utlapalli and Pulicherla villages. The case was registered based on a complaint by MPDO Dubba Satyam. However, the court has now dismissed the case.
For the unversed, during the previous BRS government's tenure, its MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah passed away unexpectedly, necessitating a by-election for the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly seat in 2021. The BRS won the election, with Nomula Bhagat, son of the late Narsimhaiah, securing victory by a margin of 18,872 votes.
