An MBA second-year girl student committed suicide by hanging herself at Kompally on the city outskirts.
According to the police, Hanisha Chowdhary was pursuing MBA in the Siva Sivani Institute of Management in Kompally, and committed suicide in the college hostel by hanging herself to a fan.
Police identified her as the daughter of a Buggaiah Chowdhary of Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Police said that Hanisha had talked to her boyfriend Dakshit Patel through a video call before committing suicide. She hanged herself to a fan while her lover was watching the scene through the call.
He immediately rushed to the hostel room and opened the doors by breaking them as she had locked them from inside. He shifted her to the nearby Snigdha Hospital with the help of her friends, but was declared dead on arrival. The police shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem and informed her parents.
The cause of the suicide is not known, and the police are looking at her mobile phone as part of their interrogation.
