Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati today said that actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan would become next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after the upcoming elections, with the alliance of the BSP, the JSP and the Left parties forming the government in the State.
Addressing mediapersons in Visakhapatnam along with Pawan Kalyan and others, Mayawati said that the alliance would succeed in both the Assembly and the Lok Sabha elections.
She said that although the Congress was in power in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh, the State did not witness any development. That was what had led to the lack of development which in turn resulted in the bifurcation of the State into AP and Telangana, she claimed.
The BSP supremo said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi hadn't fulfilled the promises he had made to AP at the time of bifurcation, including according Special Category Status to the State.
WIth both the Congress and the BJP failing Andhra Pradesh, and the TDP being able to do nothing for five years now, she said that there was an urgent need for young leadership in the residual State. She exhorted the people to not fall for the words of TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Party leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, and vote for Pawan Kalyan and make him the next Chief Minister.
Pawan Kalyan said that his dream was to see Mayawati in the chair of the Prime Minister of the country. He said that the country had got an opportunity to make a dalit leader the next Prime Minister of the country, and should jump at it. He also claimed that he was in touch with Mayawati for almost a decade, and that he was forced to have an alliance with the TDP and the BJP in 2014 due to the prevailing circumstances.
