Matthaiah Jerusalem Verdict In HC On June 29
The Hyderabad High Court postponed its judgment on the grant of a stay on the arrest of accused in the Revanth Reddy case Matthaiah Jerusalem, to June 29.
The Hyderabad High Court today postponed its judgment on the grant of a stay on the arrest of A4 in the Revanth Reddy note-for-vote case Matthaiah Jerusalem, to June 29.
The Court also postponed its decision on the change of judge sought by nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson.
Due to the postponement of the Special Court's verdict, the stay on the arrest of Jerusalem was automatically adjourned to Monday.
Arguments in both cases concluded on Thursday and the court asked the parties whether there were any objections. Stephenson's counsel asked how the court could give a stay on the arrest of A4 in the case. He also argued that the judge needed to transfer the case to another bench as he (the present judge) was not in a position to discharge his duties impartially.
The counsel also asked how the AP police could protect an accused, and register a complaint by Jerusalem.
Jerusalem's counsel Siddhartha Lothra argued that Jerusalem had nothing to do with the note-for-vote case, and that the ACB had erroneously included his name in the case.
He also argued that the people would lose confidence in the judicial system if the case was shifted to another bench.
The court then postponed its verdict to Monday. (NSS)
