Man Arrested For Spreading Rumours About Child Kidnappers

The Hyderabad Cyber Crime police arrested one Eswar Singh alias Akhi Singh, who had posted videos on Facebook with fake/false news and was spreading rumours on burglary/kidnapping gangs through the social media which were creating panic among the general public.

The police seized a mobile phone which was used by the accused in the commission of the offence.

27-year-old Singh resides at Mallepally, and was arrested by the police who filed a suo moto case against him on finding a video on Facebook with false rumours on his profile page (https://www.facebook.com/eshwar.singh.940). The video is headlined Kids Kidnappers @ Afzal Sagar (Mallepally Division). The post was shared by others.

The public has been warned by the police repeatedly over the past few days to avoid spreading falsehoods.

The operation was carried out by Inspector B Ramesh along with SIs S Naresh, Venkatesham and team members under the direct supervision of Addl DCP K C S Raghuvir.
