The Afzalgunj police today arrested a kidnapper and rescued a four-year-old boy from his captivity.
The police said that they had received a complaint on November 4 at 10 pm from Rubeena Begum of Afzalsagar, Nampally. In her complaint she mentioned that her husband, Shaik Rafeeq alias Rafi, a habitual drunkard, had left home at 11 am that day with their youngest son, Mohd Shoheb, to take him to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. When they did not return home by 6 pm, she went to the hospital in search of them. There she found that her husband was sleeping in a drunken state in the waiting area, and that her son was missing.
She then searched various locations but in vain.

While analyzing the CCTV footage, the boy was spotted at the Dabeerpura flyover bridge with the alleged kidnapper. The team quickly rushed to the location and apprehended the man, who was attempting to board a train at the Dabeerpura railway station with the boy.
The team rescued the child within 12 hours of the offense.
