The national president of the Congress Mallikarjun Kharge today criticised Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not fulfilling any of the promises that he made to the people of the State.
Kharge participated in the Congress Victory Bus Yatra at Ganj maidan in Sangareddy. Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that despite the formation of a separate Telangana State, the aspirations of the people had not been fulfilled under KCR's rule.
Alleging that the KCR government had failed to help the poor people of the State, Kharge claimed that farmers were dying in their fields because they could not sell their produce, the number of the unemployed was continuously increasing, and the CM had made the State debt-ridden.
Targeting the BJP too, he said that only corporates were doing well under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rule. He said that there were three lakh vacant Central government positions, and that the BJP government had no intention of filling them up and benefiting the youth. He claimed that the Congress when it was in power at the Centre had on the contrary set up many national institutes in Hyderabad through which many people had gotten employment opportunities.
He said that the Congress had come up with and decided to implement its six guarantees in Telangana to help the people realise the fruits of the statehood struggle. "The Congress has fulfilled many promises in its history, and most recently it has implemented its six guarantees in Karnataka," he claimed, and asked the people to give the party a chance this time.
PCC president Revanth Reddy, and Sangareddy MLA and Congress candidate Jagga Reddy too participated in the program.
