The Telangana CM said that both Hyderabad and Bangalore played important roles in India's defence industry.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today urged the Union government to designate the Hyderabad-Bangalore corridor as a Defence Industrial Corridor.
Speaking at the Vigyan Vaibhav 2025 event in Gachibowli, Reddy claimed that such a designation would not only bolster India's defence sector but also attract substantial investments.
The event was attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Addressing Singh, the Telangana CM said that both Hyderabad and Bangalore played important roles in India's defence industry, and that with the right initiatives, cities in the corridor could become a hub for emerging defence technologies and startups.
"Startups like Skyroot, particularly in areas like rocket manufacturing, could thrive with the right support," he said.
Seeking the Union government's backing for the proposed corridor, Reddy said, "The support and cooperation of the Union government are essential for these initiatives to succeed. If the Centre backs this proposal, Telangana will work tirelessly to make India a global leader in the defence sector."
Reddy added that Telangana had long been at the forefront of the country's defence industry, and that defence establishments such as Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Midhani and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) had been producing rockets and missiles for India from Hyderabad.
"Hyderabad has become a hub for defence manufacturing units. We are not only working to produce skilled engineers for the sector but are also dedicated to providing the much-needed workforce for India's national security," he added.
