BJP state president G Kishan Reddy, on Sunday, appealed to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to fill vacancies at Mahatma Gandhi Medical Hospital, which is in Warangal district.
In a letter addressed to the CM, Kishan Reddy said that there was a severe shortage of expert doctors and infrastructural facilities in the hospital.
Stating that the cardiologist's post in the hospital has been lying vacant for 15 years, he accused the government of discriminating againt government hospitals and giving priority to corporate hospitals in the implementation of the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme.
The BJP leader alleged that over 170 persons had died in the hospital in the last six months, due to a shortage of facilities in the cardiac ward. He alleged that proposals worth Rs. 120 crore sent by cardiologist Prabhakara Chary were with the government and were gathering dust. He demanded that the chief minister immediately release Rs. 120 crore to upgrade the infrastructure and fill vacant posts there. (INN)
