The newly-elected Movie Artists Association (MAA) president Manchu Vishnu today called on veteran actor Nandaburi Balakrishna.
He was accompanied by his (Vishnu's) father Manchu Mohan Babu.
The two met Balakrishna to thank him for his support to them in the recent elections of the association.
They also discussed the construction of a permanent building for the association and other issues with Balakrishna during their meeting.
Speaking to the media later, Mohan Babu heaped praises on Balakrishna. He said that he had campaigned for the defeat of the son-in-law of Balakrishna, Nara Lokesh, in the Mangalagiri Assembly constituency of Andhra Pradesh, but that Balakrishna had still extended his support to his son Vishnu in the recent elections without keeping any kind of grudge in his heart.
He said that Balakrishna had also promised to extend his support for the construction of the building of the association.
Vishnu said that he had met Balakrishna to take his blessings as the latter had stood by him right from the beginning.
He also said that he would take all the elders of the industry along with him as he discharged his duties, and that as part of that he would next meet Chiranjeevi and invite him for his swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held on October 16.
He said that he had already met veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana and the Paruchuri brothers, and invited them for the swearing-in ceremony.
The meeting of Vishnu and Mohan Babu with Balakrishna has assumed importance in the wake of the en masse resignations of the elected members of the Prakash Raj panel.
