Veteran actor Manchu Mohan Babu today said that there would not be any politics in the Movie Artists Association (MAA), and that the association was a forum of all movie artistes.
Addressing a gathering after the completion of the swearing-in ceremony of the newly-elected president of the association Manchu Vishnu, who is also his son, Babu said that it was not an ordinary matter to become the president of the association, and that the members of the Vishnu panel worked very hard for their victory. He alleged that some members of the association had tried to threaten his family during the election campaign, but that none of them was scared of the threats. He added that the Telugu film industry was not dependent on the mercy of anybody, and that only those who had talent would survive in it.
He asked Vishnu to take cautious steps on every issue, and urged all the members of the association to work together. He also asked the members to solve their problems by talking to the president of the association, and added that no member should talk to media about their problems.
Heaping praises on actor Naresh, who he said had worked hard for the victory of Vishnu in the elections, even adjusting the shooting schedules of his movies to campaign for Vishnu, Mohan Babu said that he would not forget the former's help in his entire life.
Babu said that he would soon meet K Chandrashekar Rao on the construction of houses for the members of the association.
The swearing-in ceremony of the new EC of the MAA saw minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav in attendance.
