The Lok Satta Party, on Wednesday, described Kapu Rajaiah, who recently passed away, as an artist who immortalized Telangana folk life with his paintings.
"His works mirrored the life of artisans and farmers and rural traditions and customs. He led a simple and humble life despite to rising to dizzy heights and receiving many awards and honors," Lok Satta Party general secretary Katari Srinivasa Rao said in a media statement.
Srinivasa Rao recalled that Rajaiah took part in the Lok Satta's programs for bringing about electoral reforms.
Srinivasa Rao said the state government must preserve art works of Rajaiah and establish a memorial in his honor.
At Siddipet in Medak district, Lok Satta leaders, including State Working Committee member Thumanapalli Srinivas, offered floral tributes to the artist, and took part in Rajaiah's last rites, on Wednesday. (INN)
