Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma today warned that over-speeding motorists, however big they may be, would be dealt with severely.
Inaugurating the speed laser guns and breathalyzers installed at the Bongloor tollgate at Adibatla as part of the "Road Safety on ORR" program organized by the Rachakonda police, the DGP said, "ORR is not a speed riding track, it's a common road for the public. There has been a rise in the accidents on the ORR - some youngsters with new imported vehicles are using the road for adrenaline rushes, and many drunk people are also getting onto it, leading to a number of accidents. Keeping these in view the Rachakonda & Cyberabad police will be more alert henceforth on monitoring the road. These speed laser guns & breathalyzers will enable the police to track violations on the road much more effectively," he said.
The DGP also appreciated the heads of the Rachakonda and Cyberabad police for coming forward with ideas to prevent accidents on the ORR.
HMDA Commissioner Chiranjeevulu, and the Commissioners of the Rachakonda and Cyberabad police were also present.
