The Hyderabad police solved the week-old murder case of lorry mechanic M Ajay Singh, 26, and arrested six suspects belonging to the city.
The Commissioner's Task Force personnel today solved the murder mystery a lorry mechanic M Ajay Singh, 26, of Ramsinghpura, Karwan, and arrested six suspects belonging to the city.
Singh was murdered on June 22 at the Netaji Nagar lorry parking place under the Langerhouse police station limits. The West Zone team detected that the victim was beaten by the accused with iron rods and sticks.
The accused were identified as Abdul Shukoor, 49, supervisor of HK Parking Lot, Netajinagar, residing at Seven Tombs, Tolichowki; Mohd Hussain alias Amjad, 29, home guard residing at Attapur; Mohd Abdul Sayeed alias Mohd Ghouse Mohinuddin, 27, of Attapur; Mohd Altaf, 27, of Gudimalkapur; Mohd Shafiuddin alias Sheru, 26, of Mallepally; and Mohd Sajjad Ali, 34, lorry mechanic, residing at Golconda.
According to the Commissioner's Task Force DCP, the police received a complaint on the morning of June 22 that Ajay Singh was beaten up with iron rods and sticks at the Netaji Nagar lorry parking area by some unidentified persons who suspected him to be a thief. The police immediately rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital in an ambulance.
The police said that the six accused were all friends and used to meet regularly at the HK Parking Lot in Netaji Nagar, Langerhouse, for chit-chatting and drinking. On the night of June 21, the accused all gathered at the parking lot where some 100 lorries were parked. After some time they heard some dogs barking, and found the victim hiding behind a lorry.
On seeing the accused the victim tried to run away, but the accused caught the victim, and tied him to a lorry and started beating him up with iron rods and sticks suspecting him to be a thief stealing batteries and other parts of lorries since four months in the parking lot. Later, all the accused except Abdul Shukoor went away after tying the victim's hands to the lorry. In the early morning hours on June 22 Abdul Shukoor found the victim unconscious, and left the place leaving him like that.
Being informed by the local residents, the Langerhouse police rushed to the spot and shifted Singh to the Osmania General Hospital in an ambulance. But the victim died while undergoing treatment on the same day due to severe injuries. On knowing of the death of the victim, the accused all fled to Vikarabad, and from there, went to Zaheerabad and later reached Mangalagiri.
While the accused were returning to Hyderabad, the West Zone police nabbed them at Seven Tombs and handed them over to the Langerhouse police, who registered a case under Section 302 read with Section 34 of the IPC.
