Temple Theft Case: Police Rely On Cellphone Data

The police are now relying on mobile phone data analysis to nail the culprits of the Lal Darwaza temple theft case.
Hyderabad | 13th October 2012
As fingerprint analysis and interrogation by the police has not led to any result or any clue about the Lal Darwaza Mahakali Temple theft case, the police are now relying on cellphone data analysis to nail down the culprits.

As part of the cellphone data analysis, the police will find out from all mobile network operators the details of mobile phones that were active in the area between 11pm to 3am on the day of the theft.

The phone numbers of active users, once obtained, will be cross-checked with the list of temple criminals who had been arrested but are out on bail now. The police have anyway pulled out 28 such suspects, and have interrogated them, yielding no positive results.

Sources say that the suspects are being questioned, and that their answers are being matched with their mates to find clues about their whereabouts on the day of the theft.

The temple was re-opened on Friday morning for the public.
